Fiber Optic Cables – KriziaThe kind of cabling I would like to install and use in my home would befiber optic. I first used fiber optic cable internet when I was stationedin Japan. A fiber optic cable consists of a bundle of glass threads,each of which is capable of transmitting messages modulated ontolight waves (Beal, n.d). I enjoyed it, it was fast and internetconnectivity was never lost during the peak of typhoon season. WhenI got stationed back to the states, I went with Cox Communicationsand from what I remember they did not used fiber optic but coaxialcable network. Coaxial cable is commonly used by cable operators,telephone companies, and internet providers around the world toconvey data, video, and voice communications to customers (Tysco,n.d). The internet connectivity with Cox Communications was not thebest and connectivity would be lost with hard rain or strong winds.
